Mr Cookie Baker

This book, Mr Cookie Baker by Monica Wellington which we borrowed from the town library became Xue's favourite book for awhile. We would read this book countless times a day together and my sweet little boy would 'pick out' different cookies from the book and give them to us and all his soft toy friends. Inspired by the story, I thought why not make him a cookie shop and it turned out to be such a fun project and activity at home! It was hilarious watching Xue make his cookies, open his shop and sell them to his 'customers'.

I cut out the different shapes from a thick piece of felt which was his cookie dough.

Let Mr Cookie Baker Xue Xue show you how to make some yummy cookies! 

Step 1: Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.

Step 2: Roll out your dough.

Step 3: Cut out the dough with your favourite shape cutter and place them on a baking tray.

Step 4: Put the tray into the oven.

Step 5: Press the start button!

Step 6: And wait.

Step 7: All done, wear your oven gloves kid and take out the tray.
